Series 3: Group E Modification
So my group (group g) is modifying the video created by group E (Keith, Sannah, Tiffany). Their video “bowlingballs.mov” gives the impression that a dictator has begun to manufacture bowling balls which contain explosives. there are clips of the bowling balls rolling toward the pins and then a large explosion when it makes contact. The second half of the video seems disconnected, featuring numerous clips of the dictator in a seemingly psychotic state of mind. My idea to alter this video is to use speed and colour to draw out the first half of the video, making the clips of the bowling ball as an explosive more dramatic, and the explosions to be seen as larger then originally portrayed. The clips from the second half will be cut out and placed, perhaps, before and after the explosions to further suggest who takes responsibility for the destruction. It is possible that additional clips of bowling scenarios and explosions are required to support this idea. Possibly a double screen where the left screen shows the rolling bowling ball, as as it exits the frame on the right, the right screen (showing a building) explodes.
